Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions outline the rules and guidelines for use of our website, online booking portal, and provision of our services. By using our website or booking portal, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.
Services Offered:
Tasman Piano Tuning offer in-home tuning, maintenance and repairs of acoustic pianos.
Payment Terms:
Full payment is required at the conclusion of your scheduled service.
We offer extended payment terms for schools and institutions. Please contact us for more information.
Minimum Service Charge:
A minimum service charge of $60 applies to all appointments. The minimum charge covers costs incurred by Tasman Piano Tuning where;
A client cancels their appointment within 24 hours, or;
A piano is rendered inaccessible at the time of service.
Bookings & Cancellations:
We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the beginning of your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur our minimum service charge.
We will attempt to accomodate reschedule requests made within 24 hours, but cannot guarantee a suitable new time slot is available.
Where Tasman Piano Tuning needs to cancel an appointment for any reason, we will attempt to find a suitable new time for your booking. If a suitable time cannot be found, any pre-payment for services will be refunded.
No Shows and Access for Service:
We require personnel on-site to provide safe, easy access to the property and piano requiring service. If our technicians cannot safely gain access to the property or piano for any reason, the appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged out minimum service charge.
We recommended that customers stay onsite for the duration of the service. Tasman Piano Tuning are not liable for any damage to any of the customer’s private property arising as a result of customer absence, nor are we responsible for securing the property in any way.
Unserviceable Pianos:
Where a customer books a specific tuning or service that our technician cannot perform due to the piano’s deteriorated condition, Tasman Piano Tuning will undertake an assessment & provide a written estimate of recommended works to repair the piano. The charge for this service is covered by our minimum service charge.
Limiting Noise:
To provide accurate tuning, our technicians listen for very specific harmonic frequencies ringing against one another and adjusting string tension until the frequencies match. When working in noisy environments, these frequencies can be overwhelmed and tuning can be impossible to complete. Customers should refrain from activities which generate high volume or consistent noise such as vacuuming, watching television or listening to music at a high volume, running vehicle engines, or using power tools.
Changes to Terms & Conditions:
Tasman Piano Tuning reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time. Your continued use of our services following any such changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the new terms and conditions.
Compliance and Governing Law:
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Tasman Piano Tuning complies with Australian and Tasmanian State Law and all other applicable laws.
